About the episode:
I don’t talk about this often, but my husband has been a songwriter for so many pop icons. From Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Jojo, and so many others, I’ve had the honor to meet so many of them and host them in my home. All of these successful women have had a few key things in common, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today – the mindset that you can develop to become wildly successful no matter what this looks like for you. I want to talk about the mindset that you can develop, and I say develop because you don’t have to have come into the world with it. If you weren’t necessarily taught how to be successful, that’s okay, you can actually learn it. It’s something that can be developed. I have had the honor and privilege to witness so many people become wildly successful and witness their journey until they reached that dream that they had been envisioning for years. This has really helped me in my success because I’ve been able to witness different people creating success and seeing what it actually takes, not just what our ego thinks it takes, but what does it actually take to be wildly successful? Ready to find out? Let’s go!
Topics discussed in today’s episode:
- The reminder that you can learn the skill and mindset to be wildly successful at any time of your life, it’s never too late or unavailable to you
- Why courageous action and belief is the foundation to cultivating the belief that you will be successful (no matter what)
- Remembering that life is 50/50, there is just as much failure as there is success and you have to choose to keep going
- Intentionally choosing which thoughts to believe and act from and why this is at the center of manifesting the life of your dreams
- How setting big goals and working toward them will give you an opportunity to heal the parts of you that hurt
- Learning how to believe in yourself while reparenting your inner child
- Widening your perspective of what faith could be and how to strengthen this muscle
- Why the most fulfilling thing about being wildly successful is actually service, not the success

[00:00:00] Jamie: Hi love. Today we’re going to talk about the mindset that you can develop to become wildly successful. And that is wildly successful in whatever way that looks for you, right? Living into your wildest dreams. Maybe it’s having a big impact on the world, or maybe it’s just living into what it is you really, really, really desire, going after it, and how you can do that.
[00:00:32] Jamie: And I want to talk about the mindset that you can develop, and I say develop because you don’t have to have come into the world with it, right? If you weren’t necessarily taught how to be successful, That’s totally okay. You can actually learn it. It’s something that can be developed. And I have had the honor and privilege to witness So many people become wildly [00:01:00] successful and witness their journey and the ups and the downs and everything else all around it until they reached that dream that they had been envisioning for years.
[00:01:16] Jamie: And in fact, this podcast was inspired because I had two of my really close friends fulfill massive dreams. This past weekend, and I literally have been just Reflecting on it. I would say I live to see my friends and my clients fulfill their wildest dreams. It is so amazing to see it and witness it. And it’s so inspiring.
[00:01:42] Jamie: And that’s just how I felt all weekend. So I reflected on it and I thought I got it. create a podcast about this, right? One of my friends won his first Emmy and it’s just so amazing and it was so fun celebrating him, [00:02:00] um, because I’ve seen his whole journey to getting there and seeing what it really takes to be wildly successful.
[00:02:10] Jamie: He’s a composer and he composed the music for the documentary on Netflix, uh, Blue Zones and won an Emmy for Best Composition. I’m not surprised because he’s uber talented, has always been super, super talented. Um, but it’s so amazing when someone finally gets that recognition for something that, you know, they’ve been working so hard for.
[00:02:35] Jamie: And, um, So I’ve been so inspired by that and I had another friend who I went to lunch with and she got her first TV show on Hulu So let me say that again, and she got her first TV show on Hulu Hulu and it was just released over the weekend so I got to watch that and it was her first [00:03:00] film that she directed and you can tell I live in Hollywood because these are the people that I’m surrounded by and I’m so inspired.
[00:03:08] Jamie: Um, and it’s inspired by them. Right. And me and Josh were talking about it. My husband, who’s also a musician and you know, a musician is an entrepreneur, right? It is a business. You are running your own thing. And we were thinking about it and we’re like, Oh my gosh, we are surrounded by the coolest people ever.
[00:03:28] Jamie: Right. I almost all of my friends are either artists or music. Sorry, not artists or musicians. Let me say that one more time. Almost all of my friends are artists or entrepreneurs and they’re doing their own thing. They have carved out a path for themselves and created their own career. That’s what entrepreneurship is.
[00:03:54] Jamie: Um, and we were reflecting on that. We’re like, whoa, I think almost all of our friends, I have one friend [00:04:00] that is not, and then I have my siblings who are not, who are my besties too. But other than that, All of my friends are working for themselves, right? So I really have the privilege of seeing the behind the scenes and seeing the ups and the downs and seeing what it takes.
[00:04:20] Jamie: And it’s so amazing because we get to lean on each other and I get to see what does it actually take to be wildly successful? And it’s really helped me in my success because I’ve been able to witness different people, creating success and seeing what it actually takes. Not just what we, our ego thinks it takes, but what does it actually take to be wildly successful?
[00:04:45] Jamie: And another fun thing that I’ve been able to witness, which I don’t share much, or I haven’t shared much about this for no reason, really, other than it just hasn’t come up, but my husband was a pop, a [00:05:00] songwriter for, well he still is, he just does it a little bit less than he used to, but he was a full time pop songwriter for about 20 years.
[00:05:09] Jamie: He moved out to LA when he was 18 years old and started at that point. And we used to have Every successful pop artist you could possibly imagine in our house at some point or another. And he would do writing sessions with them. Many of them have, you know, have been songs that have gotten on their albums or become singles for them.
[00:05:35] Jamie: Um, cause my husband did the behind the scenes writing, right? He wrote a lot of the melodies and the lyrics and did the production of them. He was kind of the behind the scenes guy who Made their music come to life and he would write with these people. So I have had everyone from Ariana grande to selena gomez to lady gaga to um Demi lovato to [00:06:00] jojo to you name it I’ve probably either met them or they have been in my house.
[00:06:06] Jamie: Like, I remember walking into the kitchen one day and Ariana Grande was in there eating her jicama with hummus and was like such a sweetheart, you know? And so I’ve really witnessed a lot of people who have been wildly successful and gotten to know many of them and have conversations with them and my husband on an even deeper level.
[00:06:27] Jamie: So it’s really fun to look at that and say, what are some of the, Habits that they have. What is it that it actually takes? And also what’s really fun is that a lot of these people, I got the chance to meet before they were famous, right? Like Josh actually worked with like Katy Perry. And wrote one of her first songs before she was famous.
[00:06:52] Jamie: And he could tell this girl’s going to do something like you can tell when something’s going to go, [00:07:00] it, they just have something. Right. And so I wanted to talk about what is that something and how can we develop it so that we can do that with whatever desire we have, right? Whatever our gift is, we can show up in the world.
[00:07:17] Jamie: And. Really play big, play bigger than our, maybe ego wants us to, no, I don’t want to say that, so that we can really play big and have a big impact, right? Because you have a gift that can really make a difference in this world. I know that for sure. None of us come in without that. Um, and so let’s talk about some of the things that we can do to Become wildly successful and develop that mindset.
[00:07:52] Jamie: Okay, number one, one of the things that I’ve seen amongst these people is that they just simply [00:08:00] decide that they’re going to do something and they go for it. Right? That’s the first step. I always say that’s the first step of manifestation. You have to decide. You have to make that courageous decision and take the leap.
[00:08:14] Jamie: And go for the thing that you want to go for. Now what gets in the way of many people doing that is they think, I don’t know how. That seems wild. That seems totally impossible. I have no clue how that would all come together and work out. So because we think we don’t have the how, we think we can’t even dream it up.
[00:08:35] Jamie: And that’s the biggest misconception. Not a single wildly successful person knew how it was going to unfold before they decided to go for it. They just decided, I’m going to do this thing. I’m going to play bigger. Right? I, I, I’m deserving of it. Why not me? Right? And that’s what I want to post to you is [00:09:00] why not you?
[00:09:01] Jamie: You’re amazing and you can do it and you have something to offer to the world. Is it going to be the easiest thing on the planet to get it going? Probably not, but it’s 100 percent worth it. So if you have a dream in your heart or a desire or something that just won’t stop Stop coming forward for you. I really want to say, just go for it.
[00:09:26] Jamie: Claim that you’re going to do it, decide. And you don’t have to know the how the minute you claim it, the next step is going to present itself. You’re going to know what is the one next step that I have to do towards this and baby step after baby step after baby step at a time. That’s how something unfolds, right?
[00:09:47] Jamie: So go for it. That’s number one. That is what wildly successful people do is they go for something big, right? And you will almost have to like, surrender it to a higher power [00:10:00] because you’re like, I have no clue how I’m going to do this. But I’m going to do it and I’m going to believe that I can, and I’m going to surrender this to a higher power.
[00:10:09] Jamie: And I’m just going to dream big because why not? We have one precious life to live. Let’s freaking go for what we want. Number two, these people don’t give up. They may like temporarily want to give up. They may go through obstacles and challenges and think, Oh my God, what am I doing? And don’t get me wrong.
[00:10:29] Jamie: Even I say that sometimes I’m like, What am I doing? Maybe I should just go and be, you know, whatever, right? Like as if working for someone else would be easier, but you know, sometimes it can be challenging. Obstacles come up, challenges come up. No joke, right? But the key is just Don’t ever give up. You really have to learn how to Fall and get back up.
[00:10:56] Jamie: That is one of the key Mindsets that you have to [00:11:00] develop if you want to be wildly successful Because wildly successful people fall down just as much as they rise Right. So for every win that a successful person has there’s also a fall A fall that’s happened in equal amounts. Right? And I think a lot of people think if I’m not winning, winning, winning, winning, winning, and always just, you know, getting what I want, it means it’s not working.
[00:11:30] Jamie: It means that I’m not meant to do this, but that is the misconception. Right? You are going to fall just as much as you’re going to rise. And why is that? Because with every fall you will learn something massive that’s actually going to catapult your success so much further than if you were to just win, win, win, win, win all of the time.
[00:11:54] Jamie: That’s where the richness is. Again, I’ve said it before on other episodes, like [00:12:00] that is where the character is built, that you need for that success. That is where the learnings come in. That is where the biggest lessons come in, is in the falling. So you really have to learn how to fall and get back up.
[00:12:15] Jamie: It’s that never give up attitude of like, no matter what, I’m just going to keep going sometimes. Sure. I may have to get a side job. Sure. Oh, I didn’t expect to have to do this. Oh, it’s not happening in this timeframe. I might have to reevaluate. But you just, if you just never give up, you will manifest it.
[00:12:33] Jamie: That is my key to manifestation. Honestly, that is what I always say is I manifest everything that I decide to do. I just don’t always do it in the timeframe. It doesn’t always look exactly the same way, but as long as you never give up, you will manifest it. So that’s key number two. Don’t ever give up however many obstacles come your way.
[00:12:57] Jamie: And I will say this, [00:13:00] if you really feel it’s an alignment to quote unquote give up or let it go, maybe, you know, you’re meant to take a different path, right? So I never like fight for something that feels like it’s no longer in alignment. What I’m saying is if this is something you really want and you feel called in your heart to create, then Keep fighting for it.
[00:13:21] Jamie: It’s worth it. And if you keep fighting for it, you’ll get there. And I’ve seen this with my friends, with these people, you know, that my husband works with, with my husband, with myself, right? Like all, as I have witnessed so much growth, and my clients, oh my gosh, I’ve, I’ve been able to witness my clients have massive success.
[00:13:41] Jamie: And, you know, That’s one of the keys. They just keep going and they have to work through the obstacles, right? Have to really become a mindset ninja. That’s the third thing you really do have to develop this skill of working on your mindset [00:14:00] because your mindset matters when it comes to business, when it comes to success, right?
[00:14:06] Jamie: You cannot just listen to your primitive brain, your ego, who Literally never thinks you’re enough right who thinks that Nothing is ever enough right and wants to always go into scarcity wants to go into lack of confidence and tell you You’re not good enough. It’s never gonna work all the things right?
[00:14:26] Jamie: We really have to learn how to hold space for our limiting beliefs challenge them and decide on purpose what We want to believe what we are claiming that we will believe, right? So becoming a mindset ninja means that you have to wake up every day and make up your bed and make up your mind. You decide what you’re going to believe.
[00:14:49] Jamie: You don’t just let your primitive brain run the show. You have to decide from your higher self, from your intuition, from that higher wisdom. You got to really learn how to tap [00:15:00] into that and decide on purpose. What am I going to believe? from that space. Even if my brain wants to limit me, what am I going to choose to live by?
[00:15:11] Jamie: What, what thoughts am I going to choose to give into and to act from? It is everything in business and in becoming wildly successful and manifesting the life of your dreams. It’s just a part of it. And this is why having a coach helps so much, right? Because a coach helps us to challenge, The parts of us that are limiting ourselves, the parts of us that we don’t even realize are limiting ourselves.
[00:15:38] Jamie: We just think they’re facts. Well, what’s helpful is a coach can really help with this part of you that’s becoming a mindset ninja because they can really shed, um, not shed, sorry. Let me say this again. They can really shine a light on the areas that maybe need some questioning some [00:16:00] healing and help redirect your brain.
[00:16:03] Jamie: But this is work you’re going to be doing all along and it is a key to being wildly successful.
[00:16:17] Jamie: Now the fourth thing is use challenges and obstacles as an opportunity for healing, right? So wildly successful people and people on the journey to becoming wildly successful Uh oh. They use it, right? It’s like, what is that? Sorry.
[00:16:58] Jamie: It’s like a lotus. It [00:17:00] can only grow in the mud, right? So you can use the mud. You can use those obstacles and challenges to say, Oh my gosh, what is this bringing up in me? What kind of limiting beliefs is it? Bringing forward that I can now finally see because I’m going through this challenging thing I’m going through this obstacle and it brings forward The parts of us that aren’t in belief the parts of us who don’t believe we’re enough the parts of us that lack Confidence or are insecure in some way it brings that forward and when that’s forward we can actually see it We can love on that part of us, question that part of us, challenge that part of us, and realize that that part of us is not us.
[00:17:47] Jamie: That we don’t have to live from that place. Right? Healing is the application of loving to the places inside that hurt. That is what my teachers, Ron and Mary Nik say, and [00:18:00] by doing something big and going after something big, it really provides the opportunity for healing on an even deeper level because it just brings up more.
[00:18:11] Jamie: Stuff, right? If you’re in your comfort zone all of the time, if you’re not going after big things, you’re not going to have that muck come up. We’re not gonna have that muck, that mud rise that we can look at and use to grow and change and heal and evolve again into that wildly successful person. So, use your challenges, use the failures, use them to evolve into your highest self.
[00:18:42] Jamie: That is the key to becoming wildly successful. Another one is you really have to learn how to believe in yourself. And not all of us were taught this. In fact, I don’t think most of us were taught how to believe in ourselves. [00:19:00] So for me, I know I’ve had to do a lot of inner child healing and reprogramming and work on loving myself, on learning how to support myself, and learning how to believe in myself.
[00:19:15] Jamie: That wasn’t something that came natural to me. So it really has been about developing an even stronger, more loving relationship with myself. And reparenting that inner child that didn’t believe she was smart, that didn’t believe she was worthy, that didn’t believe she could do big things, right? That believed that she just wasn’t important.
[00:19:39] Jamie: Right? So again, this provides more healing, but I’ve actually had to learn how to believe in myself. And it’s something that anyone can learn. So I want to say that if you didn’t grow up with parents who believed in themselves, or you didn’t like have examples of that, or maybe other people didn’t believe [00:20:00] in you and you find it challenging to believe in yourself, know that first of all, you’re not alone.
[00:20:06] Jamie: And number two, you can develop that skill. It just takes some patience. It takes compassion, and it takes the desire to believe in yourself and the desire to learn how to believe in yourself. But I have seen my clients do this, and I will tell you what, it is life changing, and it is work that is so worth doing.
[00:20:30] Jamie: Another one, Let me say it again.
[00:20:39] Jamie: Another thing that I see amongst wildly successful people is that they have a faith muscle built, right? So faith is one of the most powerful things and one of the energies or emotions or beliefs. Faith is kind of a combination of [00:21:00] all of that, right? And it’s something that has to be highly developed if you want to be wildly successful.
[00:21:07] Jamie: Now faith seems like this pretty amazing energy that’s just easy to step into, right? We think of it like, for me at least, I think of faith as church or something like that. But we have to widen our perspective of what we see faith as, right? You can have faith in God or you know, your religion or um, however you see faith in that context.
[00:21:31] Jamie: But I think the richest, let me say that one more time, sorry, Haley,
[00:21:45] Jamie: but I think a more expansive, um, way of seeing faith is seeing it as having courage and leaning into faith when things don’t look like they are going [00:22:00] according to your plan, or when your circumstances are absolutely not aligned with your goals. When it looks like things are falling apart, when it looks like this is not going how I thought it would, when it looks like nothing’s working, That’s when we have to lean into faith.
[00:22:18] Jamie: We have to learn how to surrender to something higher, right? And not see only the circumstances that are right in front of us. We have to have faith in something beyond that. And when you develop that, Manifestations happen, magic happens, right? That’s how becoming wildly successful happens. You have to have faith.
[00:22:42] Jamie: And that is a muscle that you can develop. And the best time to develop it is when things are not going according to your plan. That’s when you get to develop the most. Because let’s be real, like doing something wildly successful, [00:23:00] whatever that is to you means you have to lean into uncertainty, which is the mind’s least favorite emotion.
[00:23:09] Jamie: Uncertainty does not feel stable. It does not feel grounded. It feels the opposite of that, right? But we have to feel good at No, sorry, but we have to develop that skill of being in uncertainty and being okay with it creating a groundedness for ourselves That’s beyond our circumstances, right? So that’s where building that faith muscle comes in Okay.
[00:23:42] Jamie: The last thing that I really noticed wildly successful people do is they give back, right? They have a give back mentality and that can look like giving back in many different ways. But the most [00:24:00] fulfilling thing about being wildly successful is surface. It’s not actually having the success. Right? And I know this firsthand.
[00:24:12] Jamie: What makes me most fulfilled is being able to share how I reached certain successes or what I did so that I can go and teach it, I can go and give back and help other people create some of the things that I’ve created or create the things that they want to create. And I see this amongst all wildly successful people.
[00:24:32] Jamie: What’s actually the most fulfilling and amazing part of it is now you can give back. Right? So this is a muscle you can develop. This is a mindset that you can develop now along the way. So I want to ask you, how can you give back? Now that might look like just being in service to your people, to who you are serving and having that service consciousness.
[00:24:59] Jamie: It [00:25:00] might look like over delivering to your current clients and really helping them get results or helping them get way more than they expected from you. Maybe it looks like mentoring someone, right? Maybe it looks like offering guidance or assistance to someone else who is trying to get where you are, right?
[00:25:20] Jamie: Or have some questions. Mentorship is so powerful and you will receive just as much as you give. And the other part of giving back is really appreciating the people who are in front of you, right? Appreciating your audience. And I think of this with the entrepreneurs that I work with, like how much do you actually appreciate those people that are on your email list, opening your emails or the people who are following you on social media and the people that do comment or the people that leave reviews or the clients that you already have?
[00:25:57] Jamie: Right? So a giving back [00:26:00] mentality is really being in appreciation and loving the heck out of the people that are already right in front of you versus always thinking, I need to get more. I need to get more. I need to get more. Right? And I see this among successful artists, right? We talked about a lot of musicians and no, my husband has not worked with Taylor Swift.
[00:26:20] Jamie: If you’re wondering, she’s like the one, maybe There’s, there’s several that I haven’t met, right, in terms of, of pop artists, but she’s one that I haven’t met yet. She has her own writing team, but look at how she appreciates her fans. Why do you think she’s so successful? Like people feel seen, they feel appreciated, right?
[00:26:42] Jamie: So I want to ask you that now on no matter what level you are, right? This doesn’t matter if you are just starting out or if you are rising to quote unquote success or having a huge impact. Do you think your people feel appreciated? Do they feel [00:27:00] loved? That matters. So that is the final skill that I wanted to talk about.
[00:27:08] Jamie: And the final mindset, because I think it matters so much. Giving back, service consciousness, appreciating the people in front of you, that my friend, is how you’re actually going to feel fulfilled in your wild success. So here is to creating wild success. I live for hearing about what it is that you are going after, what it is that you are creating.
[00:27:38] Jamie: I live for hearing about the wins, about the fails, about you being in the arena, about you going for it. So please always feel free to send me a message on Instagram and share how maybe this podcast has impacted your you or what you’re [00:28:00] going for or what you’re creating. Leave a podcast review, right?
[00:28:04] Jamie: Share it in the podcast review. And what’s fun about that is that’s a giving back, right? Because more people will be able to access that podcast. And I would just, I’d love to Read about you becoming wildly successful. Like, that is why I’m doing this. I want you to live out your dreams because there’s no reason not to and we have one precious life to live.
[00:28:28] Jamie: So, go after wild success in whatever form that is for you. And I will see you there.
