I started making rocket fuel coffee (aka fat-enriched coffee) when I began trying out intermittent fasting. Fats don’t spike insulin the way carbs and proteins do, so a small amount is ok to have during a fast. On top of that, fats contribute to satiety, so they are very filling and satisfying.
Healthy fats play a vital role in balancing hormones, so they’re essential for healing Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. They’re also necessary for burning excess fat in the body.
If you want to learn more about the science behind that, I highly recommend checking out the book “Eat Fat Get Thin” By Mark Hyman, MD.
If you want to experiment with adding more healthy fats to your diet, rocket fuel coffee is a great way to do so! I find that it lowers my hunger and helps me sustain my energy longer.
Here’s my recipe!
12 ounce cup of coffee (use your personal fave, even decaf works!)
1 tablespoon of MCT Oil (coconut oil also works)
1 tablespoon of ghee (butter also works)
Dash of cinnamon
Put it all into the blender and mix on high for 10 seconds. Enjoy!!
Let me know what you think of it!
In health & happiness,
Jamie
