Do you believe it’s even possible for you to lose weight?
I remember back to when I didn’t. I thought my only two options were to be completely deprived or fat.
I believed that, because it was all I knew. At that time, I had only ever experienced losing weight from unhealthy calorie reduction, which was totally unsustainable. Since that was my only experience, I thought I either had to continue doing it or accept being overweight. Because I knew deep down that the way I had lost weight was unhealthy, I began to think my only option was to be overweight.
See, I was predicting my future based upon my past. I didn’t even think it was possible to lose weight in a way that felt good to my body, and in a way I could sustain. The only reason I didn’t believe it, is because it hadn’t happened yet.
What I realized was that living a past-focused life doesn’t allow you to grow. It won’t allow you to fulfill your dreams. It keeps you safe, and it keeps you living exactly as you always have been. That didn’t work for me though. I’m a dreamer, and I like to push my limits.
So I became committed to believing that I could lose weight in a way that was healthy and self-loving. I began to believe that there were possibilities I hadn’t yet experienced, and was finally open and ready to learning a new way.
Once I began to shift my thinking, along with taking action, the weight started to fall off. I was shocked…and SO excited!
How about you? Do you think it’s possible to be in a healthy, thin body?
If not, there’s a good chance that you’re also choosing past-focused thoughts as opposed to being open and curious. If you don’t think it’s even possible, it won’t be. Our actions are tied to our beliefs, so if you don’t even believe it, you won’t be willing to take the steps necessary to get there.
How can you shift your thinking into a place of possibility?
Are you open to believing that losing weight is possible for you?
Share you thoughts in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you.
In health & happiness,
