Mindset….the missing piece of the weight loss puzzle for most women.
That’s why coaching is uber effective when it comes to weight loss.
I understood nutrition for YEARS before I was able to lose any weight. In fact, I was a certified holistic health coach and was still struggling, continuing to gain weight, despite my efforts to lose.
I thought there was something wrong with my body. I blamed PCOS. I saw other people eating the same diet as me and losing the weight, I thought it just wasn’t fair.
But that mindset…
“It’s not fair”
“There’s something wrong with me.”
“I’ll never lose weight”
Was EXACTLY what was keeping me stuck.
And remember, we find evidence for what we believe. So I would have told you, no but it’s true. “I eat this many calories a day and I work out 6 times a week and I’m still overweight, it’s just not fair!” I was just finding evidence that proved my beliefs above. I didn’t ever consider, hey maybe I just have to eat a little differently than other people since I have PCOS. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with me.
The results we create in our lives are also directly correlated with our beliefs.
So since I believed I’d never lose weight, that was my reality.
It wasn’t until I learned the self-coaching model that things began to shift for me. The self-coaching model taught me exactly why and how those beliefs correlated with my results.
I could see that when I believed I couldn’t lose weight, I never went all-in to lose. I would start a diet, and when it got hard or less exciting, I’d revert back to these old thoughts “there’s something wrong with me, it’s not working” and give up on it and move onto another diet.

I recommend getting out a piece of paper and writing the answers to these questions down.
- List out 5 thoughts you have about any of the following things…your weight, your ability to lose weight, your body or PCOS
- Now that you have 5 thoughts, pick the one that feels the most true and circle it.
- When you think that thought, how do you feel?
- When you feel this way what do you do? How do you show up for yourself? How do you act towards others? How do you eat?
- What is the result these actions from #4 give you?
Doing this exercise will show you EXACTLY how your mindset is exactly why you have the results you have in your life.
