Have you thought about the role PCOS has played on your life?
I was driving around in LA traffic yesterday, doing some reflecting… as usual. I was thinking about my journey with PCOS and how challenging it’s been. How much emotional pain and confusion it’s caused, feeling like I didn’t have control over my body. Feeling like there was something wrong with me because I couldn’t lose the weight no matter how “strict” I was. And thinking about all that I went through with my symptoms…
But I also thought about what a gift it has been. How it’s caused me to learn SO much about myself. It’s given me an opportunity to practice patience on a whole new level. I’ve learned what acceptance really is. I’ve learned how to love my body unconditionally because of it. And the greatest gift it’s given me is the opportunity to connect with and support women around the globe in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
It’s taught me some of the greatest lessons of my life.
Seeing PCOS in this light gives me so much gratitude. I wouldn’t be here writing this blog and sharing if it weren’t for having PCOS. I’m not sure I would have had the desire to improve my health without the struggle. I wouldn’t have gone back to school for holistic health, had I not had so much confusion about it. I wouldn’t have sought out incredible coaches and mentors if it had all been easy. I wouldn’t have my business, or my amazing clients, and all of the joy I get from that…. This list could go on and on.
So if you’re going through it right now, feeling like things will never change, I promise you…there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.
What if you thought of PCOS as your teacher? Are you willing to learn the lessons and ultimately receive the gifts it has to offer?
Sometimes our greatest challenges become our greatest teachers.
In health & happiness,
